"By all these lovely tokens September days are here, With summer's best of weather And autumn's best of cheer." Helen Hunt Jackson

Cape Breton in September, is there any place on earth better to be?

As people wind back up into regular routines, kids head to school, vacations are over and the hay is in the barn, I hope you'll take a minute or two to see where God has put you.  The sunsets paint his glory most nights, the leave start to reveal his masterpiece on the mountains, and the wind starts to blow with the cool refreshing of his breath.  I love it!

Now that you've taken a minute to take it in, here are some things happening over the next months that you can participate in the CB christian community.

"The beautiful spring came; and when Nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also." Harriet Ann Jacobs

"The true greatness of any church in not how many it seats but how many it sends!" — Unknown

This year we seem to be in middle of March Madness... no not the NCAA basketball tournament but Missions Madness, we've spent the last 3 Sundays hearing from a few of our missionaries, with the History of Mission from Sandy Whyte and Jeanne Ferguson.  Care for Missionaries in the Field from Alexander and Bibianan MacLeod and Mission Around the World from Diane Friessen.  The next two weeks Pastor Rick Barnes will share The Biblical Mandate for Missions and Missions in Our Own Back Yard.

Not only are we talking and teaching about missions, thankfully the Lord has blessed our church by being about sending out people to do the things we're talking about.  Currently, Bibianna is in Venezuela encouraging and teaching folks who are connected to Community Heath Evangelism and facing anti-government protest and social upheaval.   Sandy Whyte has taken a dental team to Peru to check teeth and build relationships with the community they've gone to serve.  Doug and Heather Beane and Gemma Cook will be leading a team of Students from Munroe Academy to Belize to teach kids at the Cayo Deaf Institute how to use iPads giving them skills with Google apps that will help them in their education and give them useful skills for future employment.  We will also be welcoming back The Pinno-Milligan family this month from their adventure on YWAM Discipleship Training School.

Hopefully, over the next couple weeks we will all be inspired and compelled to realize that we are all called to follow Jesus on this mission, even if it's not in somewhere far away.  Our neighbors need to hear the same good news that our foreign missionaries are taking.  Our Neighbors need to experience the same love and mercy and compassion that we take to the Nations.  Everyone who follows Jesus is called to make disciples and share the good new in some way.  Come out over the next few weeks and ask God to show you how you can play a part in His big plan to use normal people to reach the world with His incredible love.

Consider going to Jesus to the Nations at the end of March to see some of the many missionary organization who are helping spread the Good News in countless ways.  Hear from several people who are reaching out right in North America to people in our own back yard.

Song Writers Circle

Please join us for an intimate evening of entertainment with local worship artists as they share how they were inspired by our Father to write songs and then perform them in a unique singer-songwriter circle setting.

This event was laid on the hearts of a few to glorify the Lord, have an intimate night where we can be in awe of Him working in others, and to support our local worship
artists financially.

Seating is limited, and admission is free; however, we are putting a suggested donation price of $20 where all proceeds will go towards blessing our musicians.

If you would like to attend please RSVP by clicking "Join"

"Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face." Victor Hugo

Winter has returned, a little trickery of January to let us think we'd have enough.  But the snow has covered us again and we won't let it hold us back... too much.

This Sunday, in response to the discussion on Intentional Community, we'll be hosting a church family breakfast this coming Sunday.  Please come early and enjoy a good time together before we start our service.
(actual breakfast may be different from the picture)

Also, on regular Sunday service, please feel free to come early (Service starts at 10:30).  The coffee pot will be on and someone will bring some delicious treats to share.  The prayer room is also open for anyone needing prayer or wanting to pray for others.

February 3rd will be the Annual General Meeting.  Please come prepared to hear what's gone on this past year, hear the direction for the future and have your opportunity to have input into the governing of the church.

Starting February 23rd, we will have a 5 week series on Missions, leading up to Jesus to the Nations Weekend.
