Jack Toth speaking at Grace

We're excited to have Jack Toth speaking this Sunday morning at Grace.  Jack is in town to speak at the Nova Scotia Leadership Prayer Breakfast and a few other events over the weekend.  He works with youth and young adults in character building programs called HEROES.  You can find out more about Jack and the HEROES program by clicking on the title of this post.  We're excited to hear how we can help empower and build up people in our church and in our community.

Also this Saturday there will be a Jack and Jill baby shower for Bobby and Noelle at the Northern Yacht Club.

Please be in prayer for Pastor Rick as he's away at the Spring Canadian Presbytery meeting.

Starting on May 8th we're going to start a series based on Francis Chan's book Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God.  Please be in prayer asking the Lord to speak to you as we go through this series.  It has huge potential to open us all up to the amazing love God wants us to know but especially to the huge love he wants us to live out and give out to others.  Be prepared to be changed, be expecting God to speak to you!!!

Prayer and Missions this Sunday!!!

Hello everyone, this Sunday we have lots happening on Sunday morning.  We'll be having a prayer time during the Service for Mark and Kathy MacLeod who will be heading off to Halifax.  We want to send them out with the prayers and blessings of their church family.  If you have words of love and encouragement for them please come and join us to pray for them.  We'll also be sticking around after the service for a lunch after worship (approximately 12:00 noon) in their honor.  If you are able, please bring some sandwiches, salad or sweets and stay for fellowship and lunch.

We're going out on a limb this Sunday.  We'll be having our first congregational Skype conversation with Alexander and Bibianna MacLeod, live from Argentina.  We’re very excited to hear what the Lord has been up to with them since they left a couple months ago.  Please be in prayer for this that they can encourage us, we can encourage them and that technology won’t let us down.

Also we’ll be forgoing the small group discussion times this week as we have several other things happening and we really need to spend time as a congregation in prayer and waiting to hear from the Lord as we go into the territory of change.  After the message this Sunday, we’ll stay together in the Sanctuary to take time to pray about some issues that have arisen in our Church over the past few months.  Please come with hearts prepared to hear what the Holy Spirit has to say to you individually and us collectively as the body of Christ.

Friday night there will be a Coffee house at 7:00 pm, please come out and support the youth as they perform and share their gifts and talents with us.

“Do you not know?
   Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.” (Isa 40:28)

Be Blessed.

Change Change Change

The Lord seems to be speaking to us and moving us in a direction of change at Grace.  Last week Emo and Kathy Yango brought us a message of change.  Calling us to the true meaning of the word repentence used in Mark 1:15, to go beyond ones current mind/spirit.
This week, Pastor Rick will be continuing on the same train of thought about change looking at the change the disciples faced as Jesus was leading up to the cross.
Here are some of the discussion questions we'll look at in the discussions groups after the message.
Hope you can join in.
1.  Why weren't the disciples prepared for the arrest and crucifixion of Christ when it occurred?
2.  Why did Jesus rebuke his disciples for not understanding what he was trying to teach them?
3.  What do we need to have in order to handle changes that God might bring in our lives and in the church?
4.  What is our peril if we resist or refuse change that God is bringing?
5.  What are the blessings if we embrace it?
