"Long stormy spring-time, wet contentious April, winter chilling the lap of very May; but at length the season of summer does come."

Sounds like Thomas Carlyle had a winter and spring back in the 1800's like this last one, but summer has come!  And with it some exciting things on the horizon.

Coming up this Sunday, our own Joe Cook will be celebrating the launch of his first CD, a 5 track EP.  Please join in the celebration on June 29th at Sarah and Jamin Barrett's in Sydney.  There will be a Potluck/BBQ around 5:00 and concert in the early evening.  Bring some food, bring your lawn chair.

The British Columbia Boys Choir will be stopping at St. Andrews Pres. in Sydney Mines on July 4th as part of their cross Canada 45th Anniversary Tour.

A team of folks from Catch the Fire school of ministry , Toronto Airport church, and two of their pastors Marcel and Ruth Preston are coming to CB, July 14th and 15th to share their knowledge and experience in sharing the the love of the Father's Heart plus other topics listed below.

These evenings are open to everyone. The meetings will be at the beautiful newly renovated Highland Arts Theater (St Andrews Church) on Bentinck St. in Sydney.

The event will start at 6:30pm on both evenings, and run until approximately 9:00pm.

Child care is included! There will not be any admission charge for this event.

The theater seats 650 plus, so please invite your friends and family to the evening sessions.

We'll be having a few guest worship leaders and preachers throughout the summer including Charl Esksteen, a worship leader from Halifax who is at Shushan for the summer and Scott MacLeod who is coming from Nashville with a team called Rolling Thunder which is a ministry school for equipping people in music and the arts for the work of the Kingdom. Wayne MacLeod will also be preaching and sharing about his ministry, Light to My Path.

Because the Summer Blast Weekend was such a hit we are working on planning an World Cup Final Party with the youth and anyone else who loves soccer (or football as the rest of the world know it) on July 13.  Stay tuned for more details on that.

will be getting into full swing next very soon, keep them in prayer!  The new directors and assistants have great and challenging summer ahead as they step into new positions.  We have several of our youth working and attending camps this summer and Joe will be teaching at Skills Camp 1.  Remember there are always kids who are unable to attend camp because of finances, please pray about how you can give to get kids to a life changing week of camp where their experience the truth of Jesus and the Kingdom of Heaven.  We have a Keep-a-Camper program if you'd like to sponsor someone through the church or you can sponsor them directly through the camp.

There will also be outreach services at the North Sydney Boardwalk when Grace joins forces with Cape Breton Christians Fellowship on July 13th and August 24th.  Invite someone out to hear some good music and the Gospel proclaimed.
